The House of Dreaming

Directed by Chris Kohn

Fri 22 Feb 2013 - Sat 2 Mar 2013

Ssshhh! The house is sleeping. Step inside a three-dimensional storybook world of wonder and dreams … with hidden passages, upside-down rooms and secrets to uncover at every turn.

Littered with exotic bric-a-brac, this slumbering house dreams wistfully of its past, conjuring memories, that delight the curious, in each room and with each object.

Inspired by the natural playfulness of children, this incredible interactive labyrinth pushes the boundaries of our imagination with an innovative combination of robotics, performers and projections – and anything within reach can be touched and explored.

This immersive adventure excites all of the senses.

Suitable for children (5-8yrs) and their adults. Visitors enter the house in groups of three.

Please note latecomers will not be admitted.
The experience runs for approximately 1 hour (30min in the house).

After I had gone through the house myself, I was amused to see the adult audience members for that session lining up with the children for their costumes: everyone looked ridiculously pleased.

If you have children in your life who are around 5 to 10, this is something they won’t forget. Neither will you. AUSSIETHEATRE.COM

Groups of three enter the house to find all manner of wonders … Hogwart's-style. SMH

I didn’t want to leave The House of Dreaming. Neither did my artistic advisor, five-year-old Scout. There’s picture books (good ones) and origami in the waiting room and you get a costume and a magic talisman ... The experience is how I remember first reading picture books. They were so real that I felt I was in the pages and living it. ANNE-MARIE PEARD - AUSSIETHEATRE.COM
